Lungs detox for smokers

No! I can’t quit smoking! Tried and failed many times, but I know I am close to giving it up ( Very very close, I can feel it😈) . I know many of you struggling with the same battle. It’s quits for some months, then relapse and back to square one.

I have tried gums, patches, read books by Allen Carr to distance myself from the bud, but I always end up reaching out for that smoke. Though they have helped me reduce the number of cigarettes I smoke. Or at least hammer my subconscious with the thought that the bud is indeed bad!

An interesting method I came across recently was to smoke a cigarette slowly (really slow) and be consciously aware of what the cigarette is doing to your body. How do you feel about it? How does it smell? Do you really need it? Are you stupid?😂.

This method reprograms the mind from the automatic impulse to smoke to being aware of the harm it’s causing you. Quitting should be easy and not a struggle. The filthy, energy sucking habit should slide off automatically. (Don’t want to start on health related risk attached to smoking, I think we all know it and the web doesn’t need one more article on it.)

But if you can’t quit the bud like me, you can try alternate healing till you are ready to give up the habit. Here is a little recipe for detox which works wonders to give relief, rest and rejuvenation to your lungs . It is a must if you are living in highly polluted mega cities.

The Turmeric Ginger Recipe

The turmeric ginger recipe can detox your body from all the harmful toxins that can cause damage to your body. (Basically give you a temporary lifeline to quit the bud)

One of the key components of the recipe is ginger root. Ginger root has the ability to help ease nausea from the withdrawal symptom. The other ingredient- turmeric contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancerous and anti-toxicity properties. Lastly- onions. Onions contain quercetin, which has been studied to prevent lung cancer and possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

How to make turmeric ginger tea?

To make turmeric ginger tea, you need a small piece of ginger, some chopped onions (400 gms), turmeric (2 tsp), water (1 litre) and some honey to taste.

Boil the water in a pot, add ginger root and onions. Add some more grated ginger and turmeric. Bring to a boil and then simmer for a while. Simple. You can have this drink twice in a day. It will help in cleansing your smoke-filled lungs naturally.

Giving up smoking can be hard, but it is doable. It may seem daunting and can take a few attempts to be successful. But the longer you let your lungs take a break, the more time they have to strengthen and heal. So try to go as long as possible without smoking as you can. It’s possible. 😎
